An under 30 min burger recipe

Head south of the border for your next beef burger – loaded with salsa, smoked havarti, corn and avocado on a warm cornbread bun.

What you need

  • 400g of beef mince 
  • 1 tsp of hot paprika (or more if you're feeling adventurous) 
  • 1 cob of corn 
  • 1 avocado, sliced 
  • 100g Kapiti Smoked Havarti cheese, sliced 
  • Tomato salsa 
  • 4 burger buns or cornbread buns

For the mayonnaise

  • 3 Tbsp mayonnaise or aioli
  • Juice of 1 lime 
  • Small bunch of coriander

Here's how it's done

  1. Mix paprika into beef mince and shape into four even patties.
  2. BBQ the beef patties and the corn cob – when the corn is cooked, slice off kernels with a sharp knife.
  3. Spread the bottom half of your buns with tomato salsa, then stack the beef patty, smoked Havarti cheese, avocado, corn and lime and coriander mayo.
  4. Add the top of your bun and take a tastebud trip to South America.


Lime and Coriander Mayonnaise

  1. Mix three tablespoons of mayonnaise or aioli with juice of one lime and a small bunch of chopped coriander.

Serving Suggestions

Simply coat your patties in a little salt and a lot of pepper, for a spicy flavour!
